36 hours

I drove for 5.5 hours today and will do the same again in about 36 hours. But this might be the best 36 hours I've ever had!

I surprised my family tonight. More details to come but right now I'm rocking a little boy who has really missed his momma.

  10. What a blessing. You can just see it on your face and on theirs. You all need that time to be together. I am hopeful the children can come and stay somewhere closer to you all in Atlanta so you can see them regularly. Maybe that is too much to wish for, but no request is too great for God. So, I will pray that you can spend as much time with them as is possible. and, always praying for Lucy as well!

  19. It could be construed as odd that a total stranger would feel such intense joy for a family they do not know. Who knows, maybe it is. But it is exactly what I feel. What I have prayed for without end. That your burden would be lifted. That Lucy would have another chance. That Ella and Jack would know without question, that despite how much time Lucy needs right now, you love them deeply and profoundly. That amidst all the darkness there would be moments of light, happiness, normalcy. Your joy, your family's joy and triumphs make me feel joyful and triumphant. I am downright giddy looking at this mama who, though road weary (quite literally) has the most relief and relaxation I have seen on her face in many, many weeks. I am so very, very happy for you all.

It could be construed as odd that a total stranger would feel such intense joy for a family they do not know. Or it could be exactly as God intended when he commanded "Love Thy Neighbor"!

With so much love and joy for the Krull Family...may God continue to bless you and keep you!

  21. What a fabulous picture!! So happy for you.

AuntieMip summed up my feelings exactly. How odd to rejoice so much for a complete stranger or cry endless tears as they struggle but that's exactly what hundreds, no probably thousands of us do as we anxiously check your blog.

Enjoy your time - all 2,160 minutes of it!!

  22. I am total stranger and am with "auntie Mip". I have followed only for a few weeks. I was given your blog address on a note because I follow lots of children with cancer on caringbridge, etc. I love going to ronald mcd house in memphis and meeting all the children and families and continue to pray for them and mail them things. I want to mail Lucy something. I love your family and have never met you!! I think that looks like Destin!!??? Hope you are loving every minute with those precious babies. You are a wonderful mother!

The works of our hands reap rewards. proverbs

  28. SO SPECIAL!!! LOVE the pictures!
By the way, I KNOW every situation is different, but when we were away from home (with our son) we were over 4 hours away. What we did is have my mom come and stay at a local (nearby) hotel with our then 2 yr. old other son. This way my husband or I would be able to spend some time with him, put him to bed most nights and some times my mom would spend the night with our other son that was in the hospital, so we could get a little sleep ourselves :) It WAS pricey, but we felt like this was a good way for us... Maybe not the whole time you are there, but since it's summer time, maybe a few days here and there? I REALLY hope you guys can be together SOON, it breaks my heart to see that little boy missing you ( I have a 1 yr. old), and I'm sure it does yours :(
Thinking of you and your family DAILY! Your posts encourage me, and how honest and open you are touch me deeply!

I can only hope to be as dedicated and in tune to the needs of my children as you are. I agree with AuntieMip's remarks. How odd and yet how wonderful to feel joy for a family I do not know. I will go the "Love Thy Neighbor" road and continue to pray and rejoice!

  58. Hello Kate, I have been following your blog/life shortly after Lucy's diagnosis. You have an amazing faith and an amazing family! I've been praying for Lucy regularly and I think it is totally awesome to see God's work through healing in her life. I know you have said that she still has scans coming up to determine if the cancer has definitely returned. The reason I am writing this email is to bring mention to a man named Bill Johnson of Bethel Church (in California, I believe). My husband and I have recently been watching videos and sermons through youtube. He and his church have been filled with the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and they have seen amazing things done in lives around them. You would have to listen to and read more about him to understand. I can't explain it well enough. Anyways, if you have some time (which I know you are busy), I would encourage you to start by watching this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpYkptDWpzM on Bill's testimony about the power of the Holy Spirit. It's about 25 minutes long. Pray about what you hear. Every time I hear about the healings occurring in the people who attend a healing service, Lucy always comes to my mind. That is why I wanted to pass this along.
Hope you enjoy the time with Jack and Ella! Praying for continued and complete healing for Lucy!
