Weekend Wrap Up

**If you read this blog from a mobile device, I have suspended the mobile view for just this week.  The mobile view will be back up next week.**

This past Friday night we took the girls to our high school's football game.  CHS is my alma mater, but I haven't been to a game in at least 8 years.  Probably even longer.  Ella has been to a few over the past few years, but this was Lucy's first.  She didn't make it past half time but had a wonderful time cheering for a little while.

Jack has discovered how to take pictures with my phone.  Now every night I have to delete about 50 random pictures from its memory.

He also found my new lipstick this weekend.

Saturday night we had a Halloween re-do for Lucy.  We invited some of our closest friends over for chili and I arranged for a few neighbors to let us trick or treat.  After a little candy hunting, we made smores on the bonfire that Erik made.  My friend Michelle let us borrow her bouncy house and it was just the perfect size for Lucy and Jack.  We had a wonderful time and Lucy never knew that she missed out on anything while she was in the hospital.

Sunday my mom, my baby brother and his girlfriend came over for lunch.  We ate chili and sat on the back porch and talked away most of the afternoon.  It was a cool day, so we snuggled in blankets and drank coffee while we chatted.  It was so nice and relaxing that I really didn't want the afternoon to end.

Tonight we have been in full Monday night madness mode.  I think this may be a fitting title for every Monday night around this house.  Not complaining...just saying.

And just to mix things up a bit,  I made a new recipe that I found on Pinterest. (Just click on the link and it will take you right to the website so you can snag the recipe!)  I know I said I was not going to be experimenting in the kitchen, but this recipe was easy and had only 4 ingredients.  I figured I couldn't go wrong.  And I was right. While the writer claims its the "best chicken in the world," I'm not sure I'd go that far.  I would, however, say it was pretty darn tasty.  It will definitely go in the recipe book.

Happy Monday to you!

  1. How wonderful for Lucy and your whole family to have a Re-do of Halloween--these memories are so special for children--and mom and dad. Love Jack's self portraits--once they learn how to take pics they never quit! My Granddaughter is the same! How fun for Ella and Lucy to help "Cheer" at the game! Hope your days ahead are filled with great memories (and photos) and good health....
