Next was a cardio test that is being used in a research study that will hopefully help children in the future who follow the same protocol as Lucy. Lucy thought this was fun and loved the little stationery bike.
Later in the day she had a psychology visit and I'm happy to report that Lucy is making wonderful progress expressing her emotions and feelings. This is a huge step for her and I'm really proud. Our last visit of the day was to ENT where we got another great check up. I left the hospital today very thankful and feeling renewed.
Lucy thought the best way to celebrate was with a little Scooby Doo and Starbucks. I love this girl!
Thankful for your good news! Can't beat Starbucks and Scooby Doo!
ReplyDeleteLook at those plump cheeks! So glad y'all had a day of good reports. Praying Lucy grows to accept the hearing aids!
ReplyDeleteHooray! Great to have a good day at the hospital which ends in Starbucks, Scooby Doo and going HOME!!! You're doing good, mama -- just keep swimming!
ReplyDeleteKate, so happy to hear some positive news. I hope that things keep moving in that direction. I had to comment because Lucy is looking so healthy and strong. I keep praying for you guys but I have to say this post just makes me smile. Keep going mama!
ReplyDeleteThat's what we've all been praying for! More good days ahead!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this post (except for her not wanting to wear hearing aids)! I love that she received good reports. I love the Starbies and Scooby Doo. I love the red wagon and I love the Vera Bradley bag in the wagon! You are an amazing mama! Love to you all from the other end of the state!
ReplyDeletePraise God for good news!!! Lucy is growing like a weed! Just look at how long her legs are getting. :)
ReplyDeletePraying often!
Good news for a great hospital visit!!! The little book is in the mail...was a little later leaving but you should have it today or tomorrow. I love the book because the broken shell can be yourself when you feel down or it could be Lucy's limitations....however you interpret it in your life situation. If you already have it, do pass it along to someone who has been on your mind as you have been on mine.
ReplyDeleteA simple little book with a great big message.
Glad you both had a good day. Continue to pray for Lucy and your family.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear good news! Always praying for sweet Lucy!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Lucy's beautiful smile and those cheeks - oh, those cheeks. Just want to give a gentle squeeze. Glad you had such a good day. One day at a time, one step at a time.
ReplyDeleteGreat News and Great Smiles, Love them both
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad y'all had a good day. Lucy is such a trooper and you are an amazing role model for her. Continued prayers for your family!
ReplyDeleteGO LUCY!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an answer to prayer! So glad that Lucy is doing well!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that you're feeling a bit better about life! One day at a time!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are feeling a little better. Just remember that each day is a new beginning; a place to start over renewed. Before I get out of bed, I try to pray that God will renew my spirit as He renews the day for me. It is so important to take care of ourselves too. Much love and prayers coming your way...and SO happy for good news for Lucy!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I'm a huge Scooby Doo fan! Next, I think it's totally normal to have the feelings you do, I think in our lowest times, is when we call out to God to hug us or send a human to hug us. :) So proud of Lucy, please tell her my almost 92 year old grandfather hates his hearing aid too but he's finally decided to wear it. However, we still have to scream at him. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day to you Kate! You are truely super mom with everything you have been through. I hope you have a blessed day :)
