We are choosing to live. One day a time. Today, Lucy swam for the first time in two years! It was an amazing time for all of us. She was like a fish. My heart was so happy I could hardly
contain myself. What a gift we have been given!
OHMYGOSH! Had to check in before bed and was not expecting that - it's WONDERFUL! I bet it meant the world to her to be able to do that again. What a fantastic picture of you and your girls :) . Sending support from VA!
Kate, you are truly amazing! I have followed your blog for a very long time. I have kept you and my family in my prayers and will continue to do so. In writing this I realize once again that our "God" is truly amazing! Without him there is no way that you would have the strength and will to continue on this journey. Each day is truly a gift from God, and I am so glad that you were able to bring sweet Lucy home, and have had a wonderful day with your family!
How wonderful to have just a normal time of swimming for you and your girls! Huge smile on my face for Lucy and Ella, you, Eric and your whole family...
Look at those 3 Beautiful girls!!! I was hoping today would be a day of fun and what is more fun than SWIMMING?!!! Keep on making those AMAZING memories and bask in the sound of your baby's smile and laughter!!! I will continue to pray!!!
So fun! I was reading Psalm 84 this week and thought of you... In verses 5-7 the writer refers to those whose strength is in the Lord...they pass through times of tears (valley of Baca) yet make it like pleasant streams. They go from "strength to strength" because their hope is in God. On this roller coaster, I see you going from "strength to strength"...from grace to grace. God is sustaining you with little glimpses of his blessings. A swimming day was one of them. Press on...you are running the race well! Praying always.
Tears of joy are streaming down my face! I can't imagine how wonderful having your girls both in your arms happy and smiling from ear to ear. Lucy continues to amaze me! I'm not sure why though she has proved over and over again what a warrior she is! God has big plans for your baby girl and I believe it's right here on earth! She has already touched so many! I continue to pray for your family! Go Lucy!
Keep on swimming and making those family memories!! I'm so happy to see the smiles on all of your faces. Keep on fighting and we will keep on praying for you all!! GO KRULL FAMILY GO!!
Keep on making memory after memory, for the day will come, when your three kids ask " what did we do and what were we like as kids, your grandkids want to see pictures. God is definately the decision maker in life, but I think with Lucy He sees how many people love her and there lives for most are connected spiritually. She is a bright light the world needs at this time. She has a very strong purpose for living.
i am not living this advice at present, finding it much easeir to give, but live life to the fullest. Lucy looks so happy! I'd do everything she wants to do and more! Ice-cream for breakfast, painting with chocolate pudding, you name it, let her do it! Please keep us posted as you have so many virtual friends rooting for you, Lucy and your family. love and hugs, Elizabeth
I have been following your story for a while and praying for all of you. I like your title of Choosing To Live as it is great. I am believing for Lucy's total healing. The Word says "by His stripes we are healed" and that includes Lucy. Never give up on a miracle.
In the infamous words of Dory from the movie NEMO: KEEP SWIMMING!!KEEP SWIMMING!! ! So glad to see the beauriful smiles in this post. Always silently but prayerfully following along Lucys journey.
Those smiles just light up the world!!! I love your title "Choose to live". It brought tears to my eyes o see God's precious angel Lucy swimming, only by the grace of God. He is so magnificient!! I pray you continue to make more beautiful memories with your family. I am praying for more miracles with Lucy!
How wonderful!!!! What a positive outlook you have when there is so much unknown! You are a true inspiration!!! Continued prayers for your sweet family!
Reading regularly, commenting occasionally, praying always. As we battle life vs death here also, we count each breath & each living minute of the day a victory. Praying for many victories for you. We know God has the battle won.
Happiness for your family; so wonderful to hear about and so wonderful to see in your beautiful picture. Praying to God that he will give you all many more days of "living" together. :)
What a happy moment!!! So glad you all got to go swimming and were able to have some family time. <3 GO LUCY GO <3 Prayers for you and your family will never stop!!!
What welcome, wonderful news! Unceasing prayers for God to continue to radically intervene in Lucy's healing and bring her to full recovery. May God continuously pour out his wisdom, mercy, grace, strength, protection, and comfort upon your family.
Yay Lucy! I have a shirt that says Just Keep Swimming and it reminds me to keep pushing along. I think that you and your family do that - you keep pushing and fighting. Lucy is such a strong little girl and watching her fight is inspiring. Swim Lucy, Swim!!
KATE! THIS IS AMAZING!!! I was scrolling through past posts.... what if ONE MONTH AGO... someone would have told you that your beautiful little Lucy would be SWIMMING in a pool with a smile! Think of where exactly you were 4 weeks ago. Keep on believing... keep on having faith... keep EXPECTING A MIRACLE. BECAUSE I THINK YOU ARE LIVING A MIRACLE RIGHT NOW (no matter if it's for 1 moment like this or for many many years). Lucy has touched thousands of lives.... and she's not done yet. Thank you Thank you Thank you God.
I really love so many things about this. Most of the time, Kate, one day at a time is best! It stinks that you have to go through all the junk to be reminded. But, I guess learning that lesson is part of the blessing that keeps you sane.
I love the photo, and Lucy's smile. And yours and Ella's too. :) -- I know that by returning home Lucy is missing some physical therapy that she would have had in Atlanta. But, swimming is GREAT physical therapy, so I think that and being back with family makes up for it. :) -- And I don't know how your weather is where you are, but if it's anything like here in Virginia then a pool is one of the best places to be.
Go Lucy Go! That's amazing. Just Keep Swimming, Just Keep Swimming! I will continue to keep you in my prayers and I hope you are having a wonderful day.
W prayed during those dark days just a few weeks ago to allow Lucy some time home to be a normal family. He is giving you not only that, but hope for a future. Look at this beautiful picture and those smiles. Christ is Love. Christ is there with you. Love abounds.
I hope this doesn't sound weird because I do not know you and have never met you and probably never will (not because I wouldn't like to) but this post made tears stream down my cheeks as I read it. I check daily and pray that Lucy is having a wonderful day. I loved this photo of the 3 of you in the pool. That is what everyday should be like for her and that is what we all have to keep praying for.
I am so happy to see you all together and enjoyed a day of swimming and laughter. You never know what God has in store for us. My prayers are with you all everyday. I am so happy to hear that the doctors and nurses are not giving up and going to give Sweet Lucy that chance to live and be the person she is to be. So excited for you all and such a great picture.
Lucy...you have come so far! Keep fighting to get stronger everyday! Praying endlessly for more miracles and healing for you always! So happy to see you three smiling and enjoying summer. Thanking God for you, Lucy and all He has done on this journey for you and for your family.
I was so happy to see this yesterday! Please keep living each day to the fullest no matter what it brings! I personally pray that every day-that I am thankful for the day no matter what happens! I am happy to see you share that sentiment! Love you, Kate!
I am praying for all of you, as you continue to fight. Go Lucy Go!
Kate, you are a great momma. You are an inspiration to me, and I know to so many others. Keep your faith, I know you will find your way. These kids have a tremendous example in you, their daddy, and all the family around you. We always want more time, it is the most precious gift we can have. I just know you will have more time with Lucy. She's been so strong -- a warrior in the body of a tiny girl. She is precious, and I check you guys every day, and love the days there is good news, love the days there are happy faces, love the days I see all of you living.
You all continue to amaze me. I have mixed emotions every time I read this blog. I feel so sad for all that Lucy and you and your whole family have had to suffer. I also feel such joy in knowing that families like yours do exist. Ones with such love and devotion and caring and faith. I pray God pours out his blessings upon all of you and may He heal Lucy fully and completely. Sending many good wishes and prayers your way today.
What a blessing to see this! Your very first sentence reminded me of a gospel song called, "One Day at a Time." I'll be singing and reminding myself all day long that that is how we should all be living life, squeezing the most out of it and using it for His glory. Praying for your family as always.
One day at a time, sweet Jesus That's all I'm askin' of you. Just give me the strength To do every day what I have to do. Yesterday's gone, sweet Jesus, And tomorrow may never be mine Lord, help me today, show me the way One day at a time
I haven,t been able to comment for a week or so but have been keeping up with your updates either by computer or my daughter. May God continue to work his miracles for Lucy and give you all the strength to move forward. I continue to pray each day for all of you and marvel at your capacity to endure and your ability to bring as much normalcy as possible to your children's lives. You all are beautiful inside and out.
