We made it to St. Jude. When Lucy crawled up in that familiar hospital bed she smiled from ear to ear. She
later painted a picture and wanted me to write "I love St. Jude" at the bottom. Bless her sweet heart.
We haven't heard from any doctors but really didn't expect to tonight. We should have a pretty good pow wow by tomorrow afternoon I suspect. I am all at once scared, thankful, restless, peaceful, sad and happy. Mainly, right now, I am utterly exhausted. So are my two traveling companions.
Nothing could have been sweeter than holding my babies tonight. All three of them. I've missed them so much.
So glad you guys made it safe and sound. Praying. Praying. Praying.

Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers. You and your family have a very special place in my heart. Love you guys.
ReplyDeleteKate--continued prayers for you and your family for peace and for answers soon. I know how much you want to understand the reason for all of this struggle and turmoil your family is going through; finding a greater good for it all is the only way we can make sense of it. Although I fully believe there is a purpose to it all, sometimes the reason does not become clear until much much later. Perhaps in over analyzing it while still in the moment we make more stress for ourselves. When I find myself doing that in my own life I ask God to take away my worries and my analyzing because i can't handle it, but I know He can. By turning it over to Him the burden of having to figure it all out is lifted and I can be more present to deal with the matters at hand and live in the moment. I know how badly you want a reason for Lucy's suffering, and so do I. It's' torture not knowing. But I know God will give us the answers when the time is right.
ReplyDeleteI pray for comfort and divine guidance for your family all the time. (((HUGS)))))
Thanks for the update Kate. Please keep us posted. Still praying for a complete healing for Lucy.

ReplyDeleteHi Kate....
ReplyDeleteI have been a "lurker" for a really long time. I found out about you guys and Lucy because both of our blogs are on 'And then there were seven's blog as needing prayer! I have been praying for you guys almost everyday. I wanted to write to tell you that God is using you and Lucy as a daily encouragement to me. I have a daughter with a heart condition, a daughter with a blood disorder and a son who is in the process of being diagnosed with a retinal dystrophy and may lose his sight. There is so much I want to write about how God is using you and yet it is hard to put into words. Our journeys are different but I see you grappling, wrestling and being so real before God and everyone and it is such an encouragement to me. It is so hard to walk everyday in watching my kids struggle and so many try to encourage me by making light of things...seeing the beauty in Lucy and her courage mirrors so much of what I see in my kids and reading as you pour out your heart reminds me that what God wants from me is not to blindly walk but to pour out my heart, to grieve and be weak when I need to.
I guess I want to write to say that your journey has changed mine for the better, Lucy has helped me to trust in the strength deep inside of my kids and it has all helped me to feel like I am not so alone.
Please know that I am praying!
Shannon
