Choo Choo Broke

The cake was a hit until it was time to eat it. Jack is absolutely beside himself. He keeps saying "choo choo broke."  I'm not sure if he will ever forgive me.

2 birthday parties in one weekend.  Ella Friday, Jack tonight.  I'm pooped!

  3. we learned to be careful with character things at a birthday party once where they had a piñata of Dora. It was really cute until it was time to smash it. Half the kids started crying and screaming (including my CiCi). I knew then that I could never have a piñata or a cake of any kind of character.
It is an awesome cake though. Glad Jack had a wonderful birthday.

  8. Happy Birthday Jack, You are one handsome little boy!!! Kate did you make that cake ? It is so cute but alot of work. I made a birthday cake like that for my son and had his party outside , went to get plates and the neighbors dog ate 1/2 of it before it had a slice cut out of it. HA, Ya I was pretty upset.. It took me 3 hours to make it. You need a much needed vaca.

  9. Wow - lots of fun birthday's to celebrate. The "choo choo broke" reminds me of the time when our daughters were not school age yet - and we were play "clue" for the first time - what possessed us to play with clue with them - is beyond me - but anyway - that is what we were doing - and one of the girls ended up being the "murderer" and cried and cried and was so upset - "I'm not a murderer...". It was awful. We didn't play Clue for a long time after that. Jack loving his cake is precious!

  12. Happy birthday to Jack and Ella!
My daughter at age 15 still brings up that I broke Barbies legs for her cake. A bunt cake makes a great gown but does require Barbie to loose her legs. It makes a great story for years to come.
I am so blessed to read your blogs. I get excited to here they next piece of the story every time I see an update.
Keep praising God for everything he will carry you.

  13. That is SO sad and at the same time funny ;) I remember we learned the hard way with my nephew, we had (his favorite character) Elmo party! He loved Elmo, but NOT so thrilled about the pinata of Elmo. After he watched on in terror as everyone was beating Elmo, THEN we threw Elmo in the trash (since he was all torn and shredded), my nephew (2 yrs. old) TRIED to rescue Elmo pieces from the trash :( Oh it was sad.
    Live and learn! :)
