Resting Well

I was going to type a long post and had great plans to upload a bunch of beach pictures tonight. However, after just falling asleep trying to send a text I guess I'm pretty tired after all. I'll do all that tomorrow.

Here is a picture of Lucy this morning. Totally unaware of what was about to happen and even stronger this morning than yesterday! She's resting well
tonight and has had minimal pain meds. Pretty amazing for a little girl who has a 4" incision and 17 stitches in her head along with a new metal plate!

  2. To God be the glory. May his protective care surround Lucy, you, and your family. I see now where Lucy gets her beautiful baby blues, from her mom. Praying for you, Kate, that you will rest securely in God's perfect peace. Wishing you and Lucy a good night's sleep. Praying that Lucy is not in pain.

  3. Kate - what a beautiful, loving picture of you and Lucy. Your eyes tell a story of great love, great pain, great hope and great fear.....but mostly of great LOVE! Your love for Lucy radiates! And, her smile and sparkling eyes are such a blessing to see. Thankful that surgery is finished and she is not in too much pain. Continuing to pray with hope for the Lord's healing on Lucy. Give your mommy and daddy a great big hug because they are so special and love you to pieces. I love to see the pictures of your smiling face and I know you can smile like that in such a difficult situation because Jesus is in your heart and he gives you a joy and strength that can only come from the God of Heaven. 14. Kate, I have been praying for you all since hearing about Lucy last year. I also follow a blog written by a mother whose son was miraculously saved from drowning over a year ago. She posted a really wonderful message the other day (Thursday Evening 7/5) that made me think of you instantly. She has some beautiful thoughts about the "why God" question. I felt so lead to jump on here and share her message with you. Hope you find it as inspirational as I did. I do not often comment on blogs (okay- NEVER) but I felt so compelled to share her link. Prayers always!

  16. Still praying for the total healing of sweet Lucy! She has endured so much and so have you and your family. The strength in Lucy must come from you...she is fortunate to have you as her Mother. I hope this will be a quick recovery for her and that this ordeal will become nothing more than a distant memory for all of you.

  21. My prayer this weekend and today has been for minimal side effects of this surgery. From what I can tell, this is the strongest Lucy has ever been going into surgery and certainly it will do her good. Tonight as I was waiting for my computer to bring up your post I caught myself praying for "my Lucy." That is exactly how we think of her. She is really God's Lucy and Your Lucy, but I know so many of us see her as Our Lucy too. I am holding onto hope that we all be shocked to see how well Lucy is doing tomorrow morning!
