One more for the night

Dream come true....

Did you know they make a bald headed American Girl?! When the lady brought it out to show me today I cried right there in the middle of the store. We hope maybe Santa will bring us one!

  2. May God bless the heart of the human who so lovingly convinced a manufacturer to design a "big girl baby doll" with no hair... In awe. God is around every corner, isn't He? At times, it can be so hard for me to "see" Him, but it never fails that when I open your family's blog, I "see" Him. My spirit is renewed tonight... somebody out there saw a need for a bald baby doll and convinced someone to produce them... it gave me chills... tears for you - totally!!! Thanks for sharing.

Love you, Kate. Go sweet Lucy-girl, Go!!

  4. Way to go American Girl! This isn't a baby doll at all, this is a full blown, grown-up doll with no hair. A doll that may likely have endured chemo. A doll that unfortunately many little girls like Lucy can relate to. How sad they had to make this doll - a sign of childhood cancer, but how wonderful of them too. Wow - if only they donated them! Lucy, if I had the money my dear, I'd buy you one. Here's hoping Santa isn't too busy to take a little time to read your mama's blog!

  5. Oh Kate, This just took my breath away. I can not imagine the feelings you had when you see this doll. Tears are streaming while reading this post just for the thoughts that their are so many little children out there that even should have to be in this situation makes my heart break. Lucy doesn't have to worry, I am sure that Santa has watched what an amazing, strong beyond belief, good little girl she has been. I have no doubt she may recieve this amazing american girl doll. I never knew thay made these. Do they have them out for all to see in their stores?

  6. Hi Kate -
I'm hoping you read your comments often, since I just wanted to let you know myself and another Fan of Lucy's sent you an email about her recent win on Pretty Princesses FB Page! I'm sure you get a ton of emails, so just wanted to make sure you got this very special one - please be sure to check! :o)

  7. That's great! Way to go AG store!
Have you seen Liv girls too? They are like Barbies with wigs that can be taken off and they can go with or without hair. Sophie loves them, better than Barbies and she can relate to them a little better since Jake has no hair. They are a little more realistically shaped not as curvy as Barbie. They usually have lots of hats and accessories too. Maybe Santa could bring a Liv girl too?

  11. I have been reading Lucy's story (along with those of your other beautiful children) and I have a question. I have a doll that is about the size of a two year old that I had custom made a few years ago. To make a long story short - I crochet and have three boys who never wanted to model the girl things so I could take pictures. Now we are moving and I am downsizing - so I have been looking for someone to give this doll too. She had a wig glued onto her head - but through the ups and downs of my boys, her hair has come unattached. The doll and her hair are in great shape but the wig is not attached (but can be placed on the dolls head or can be reglued). I would LOVE to be able to send Lucy my doll. The best part - when Lucy is ready - the doll's hair can be reattached or used as a wig. The doll is beautiful, has a soft body but 1/2 of her arms and legs are hard plastic. If you would like more information or pictures - please email me at srich5@twcny.rr.com.
