Something Wicked This Way Comes

The front door has been decorated so we are officially ready for Halloween!  Something wicked this way comes, for sure.  Glittery spiders can be wicked, right?

The last two mornings I have spent with my baby boy.  Just me and him.  Lots of kisses have been shared and giggles could probably be heard at the neighbor's house.  I love this little gift from Heaven.  Snuggling in Mommy's bed and breakfast in big boy pants!

I have just one question though.  Is it too early for this...

It drives Erik crazy, but Christmas could never come soon enough for me!  That's right.  Decorating for Halloween while listening to Bing.  It's only a matter of weeks before the trees start to do up.

  4. Beautiful door! Handsome boy!

As for Christmas music, having dealt with infertility/pregnancy loss, I haven't been in the Christmas mood at all the past few years. It's hard to listen to songs about a baby (even baby Jesus) without wondering if it's ever going to be my turn. Now that I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant, I'm so ready to bust out the Christmas music to make up for lost time! So, I say go for it! :)

  5. Christmas music always cheers me up when I'm feeling down so I find myself listening to it on and off throughout the year. A couple years ago, I had one of my Christmas trees up on Halloween night. :) Merry Christmas!

  8. I'm laughing right now because I'm sitting in my office at work, grading papers, listening too....Bing Crosby! It just helps me relax and makes me think one day in the near future the semester will be over and I will be able to relax and bake and quilt and decorate. I gotcha girl!

  9. Glad to know that I am not the only one who starts listening to Christmas music before Halloween! Already planning Stephanie's Christmas Extravaganza (as I call it). Can't help myself, it's my favorite time of year! So happy that your family is doing well and I am constantly praying for continued healing both physically and emotionally for all of you. It's crazy how someone you have never met can impact and touch your life so much! Lucy is such a miracle, gives me hope for a couple people I know right now in similar situations. :)

  10. It is not to early! I love Christmas music! As soon as I take down the halloween decorations I am going to start rearranging the house to put up Christmas stuff. (It will take a lot of work, deciding where the tree should go and finding new homes for some of the stuff in it's place). A few years ago I started the tradition of having the house decorated before Thanksgiving, that way on Thanksgiving we can enjoy the decorations.
I love the holiday season as well!

  13. I'm one of those! It seems the holidays blurr into each other. I want to wait until the Friday after Thanksgiving to listen to Christmas music. Now am I thinking about shopping? Yes.

I want to savor each season. Am I weird?

Your glittery spiders are as scary as my scarecrows on the porch!

  15. I've never left a comment here but have followed your sweet family blog for a couple of months. I'm not even sure how I found it. A God thing? Maybe. I've been going through some personal trials and what feels like testing the past 10 years. Family accidents, deaths, sins, and betrayals. Now, just in the last few months, I have learned that my husband has a progressive form of Alzheimers. I have been reading about how you are trying to prioritize your life and what's important. It's exactly what I have been struggling to do myself. But, all the time you are trying to put God in your life more you'll be met with lots of resistance as I'm sure you know. I'm reading an incredible book right now by Ann Vosskamp, called A Thousand Gifts, and it's tearing my heart out with the parallels of life. And hurts and anger and children and her faith. She is an incredible woman. If you like to read, I highly recommend that you read it, too. It can sure change your perspective. Keep your faith strong and your prayers stronger.... and God will give you that peace that passes all understanding. Praying for your family and sweet LUCY.
