Update

Just a quick update. Lucy did well today. Her heart looks good and her pulmonary function test came bak great. Endocrine clinic brought about some issues for us to deal with down the road, but thankfully nothing urgent.

I would like to ask that you pray that we make the right decision about some unexpected hearing loss Lucy is experiencing. I will give more details last but right now our focus is making it through tomorrow's scans.

Thank you in advance for your prayers.

  3. There are some really great audiologist at Memphis Oral School for the Deaf in Memphis. Our children are taught to listen, learn and talk. Many have hearing aids and some have implants. Call and talk with Teresa Schwartz if you would like. If nothing else, she would be a great resource person for you!

  11. God bless y'all! No child should have to endure what Lucy is going through, no mommy should have to watch her child suffer. It just stinks.

  13. We haven't met but I've been following your story shortly after Lucy's diagnosis. I have severe to profound hearing loss (80-90% loss) and wear hearing aids. I'm here if you want to ask any questions. My email is Kbludworth@gmail.com

    Praying for tomorrow's scans!

  15. Maybe you won't see this post but if Lucy has hearing loss, you can get her hearing aids. My 12 year old has been profoundly deaf since about 5 months of age. We don't know what happened and probably never will. She has dramatic scars on her ear drum. Anyway, she has bilateral cochlear implants. She doesn't let her hearing loss slow her down. She is flourishing. Hang in there!!!! email us if you have questions!! We pray EVERY night before dinner. The end of my kids' prayer is "Thank you for watching over Colin and Lucy. Please continue to do so." (Colin is a friend from school who was in a car accident and left in a coma. We have no idea how he is doing now but we pray for him still). Hugs to you. PRAISE JESUS on wonderful news on the scans!!!
