(computer is being repaired so its back to the phone for posting)
Ella's first day was wonderful. She only went for a half day today and she loves her new teacher. Our school is brand new and the kids had a great time exploring. Lucy does not go until tomorrow. She will also go for a half day, but we did go today to get some things in line. Sending her to school isn't as easy as packing a lunch and back pack.
This very thing is what has inspired my first few ideas for the link party I will be starting this Friday. For the first link up I am going to let everyone share their blog address. You guys know me, but I don't know you at all! I think it will be so fun reading about you guys (and each other) for a change.
Then the second link party will be dedicated to parents/children who have special needs going back to school. Maybe you guys have some ideas to share or resources that might be of help to other mothers. I know I found some really cool things today as I was searching for a cute medic bracelet for Lucy today.
Last, but not least, I need your help. I've gone way too long without a good nights sleep and I can't think of a catchy title for the link party. Any ideas?!?!
(the picture of the kids below is our morning routine. Chocolate milk in bed watching cartoons before school. I live for these moments.)
Miss Ella is so beautiful and looks like she is ready for school. Don't forget to add educators to your second link party. I'm not a parent but teacher who loves ad work with lots of kiddos who have special needs including medical needs. Thanks Kate! Have a great first day Lucy, I will be thinking of you and your mom:)
ReplyDeletePraying for sweet little Lucy tomorrow in her adventure back to school!! Ella looks DARLING as always!! I wish I was a smarty pants and could come up with something cute for your party... but I'm just not. :)
ReplyDeleteMy suggestions for names for the linky party is "Links of Love for Lucy" (a play on Locks of Love) or "Who Loves Lucy?" or "Go Linky Go!" but maybe you want to reserve that one for "Go Lucy Go!"
ReplyDeleteLauren's Hope has the CUTEST medical alert bracelets/necklaces! Check them out! I'm a Type I Diabetic (diagnosed at age 7) and was so excited to be able to wear such cute medical alert bracelets while in school, and even still now!
ReplyDeleteYea! Glad today went well! Hope tomorrow goes well too. I love the chocolate milk in bed tradition. Snuggling in the morning and being lazy RULES in my house for sure! :)
ReplyDeleteThe first thoughts that popped into my head is, "Kate's Connections" or "Connecting with Kate" since your link party is to connect with others.....and so many have connected with Lucy's story. Or, how about "Keeping It Real" link up since we are all sharing real life, joys, struggles, tips, highs, lows, etc.... Or, how about "Sharing a Spark" as we all share sparks of wisdom, life, etc....
ReplyDeleteI like "Keeping It Real" the best! Anyway, I hope something will help you decide what to name your link up! I think your ideas for the link-ups are great!
Ella looks so beautiful in her back to school photo! Hope tomorrow goes well for Lucy!
Love that last picture of your kiddos! They are beautiful! Praying that Lucy's first day of school goes well!
ReplyDelete"Rising above" or "Mighty Warriors" comes to mind. I also like "Connections to the Krulls" or "Lucy's Light".... Looking forward to this link as you, my friend, are a link that God sent here to teach. You, Kate Krull, are a Mighty Warrior indeed.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful memories you are making. Ella is a beautiful girl and grows more beautiful every day. She looks so ready for school in the purple dress. But a little less ready in bed! All your children are beautiful. Hope Lucy has a good day today. I'm just so thankful you are at this point - where you're sending both your girls off to school.
ReplyDeleteKate,
ReplyDeleteElla looked too cute! Why is she looking so much older today? Is it because of third grade?!!
I have been praying for Lucy's first day of school and that she would connect with that one friend that will love on her and help to ease the transition.
There are lots of boards on Pinterest for all kinds of special needs. Such good ideas!
Praying for uneventful days!
CHOCOLATE MILK AND CARTOONS....IS THERE ANY BETTER WAY TO START A MORNING!!! LOVE IT!!!! I don't have a blog, but love reading others. This "title" just came to me.....~~~Heart to Heart~~~~~. Pretty Ella, love your first day outfit....you always look great!!! bettie, Col. 3:17
ReplyDeleteMy daughter wears a medical alert bracelet that we ordered online. One thing we learned was that we should have put clear nail polish on the metal plate before she wore it because they do scratch. Hope you find a cute one! I will be praying that you all have wonderful first days of school!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip!
DeleteNew name- "HEARTLINE"...
ReplyDeleteI'm not very creative for titles but I would like to be included on the link. Since I'm the great-grandma here some may not pertain to my life at this time. However, I've walked this journey with your family through prayers and want to keep up with what is going on in your world - guess your could call it My World Today/This Week, etc., til something better comes along. As a behavioral/mental health counselor before retirement I may have some ideas to contribute from time to time.
ReplyDeleteNava, you are welcome any time! ;)
DeleteGreat news she looks so happy to be going to school I love the picture of the kids in the bed so fun and chocolate milk yummy for their tummy. Thanks for sharing we are so happy happy for you and the family.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to start the morning! Your three children are such a blessing and I am really looking forward to this linky. :) I might miss the first two link ups as I will be away camping with my family but if there is a chance that I do have internet I will be joining.
ReplyDeleteAll these suggestions for a title sounds so good and what came to my mind is 'Hope For A Future'
Lifting you all up in prayer often.
<><
I love the sleepy look on all their faces!!! :) So cute.
ReplyDeleteI'll add to my prayer list that you start getting some better sleep!! :)
The first thing that popped into my head was Lucy's Links - then I remembered that your name is Kate - hahahaha! I love someone else's idea - Kate's Konnections - praying for all of you
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear Ella had a great day and liked her teacher, that is such an important part of school. I find if a child doesn't hit it off with their teacher it makes for a very long and usually unproductive year. I hope Lucy has just as good of a start to her school year. Fingers are crossed.
ReplyDeleteLucy's Links
ReplyDeleteWow, you guys start school early; our kids haven't even had Vacation Bible School yet(it's next week). Here schools always go back the day after Labour Day, the first week of September; they have all July and August off. We homeschool but still follow the calendar year the schools do.
ReplyDeleteI agree w/ Lelliott, I like "Kate's Konnections" w/ the "K" :-)) Ella you are absolutely ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! & YOU "Go Lucy Go" girl!!! I'm so glad you're going to school!! I'm so very proud of you :-)))
ReplyDeleteI love the last picture!
ReplyDeleteI hope they both have a great year in school!
I love the picture of Ella - she is just gorgeous - so glad that Lucy was able to go to school for even half a day. She is a miracle in progress! And little Jack is just adorable. I love seeing all the pictures of your family and can't wait for your new 'linky party' to start!
ReplyDeleteContinued prayers for my sister Cari as she awaits more testing this week before her treatment starts. We are believing a mighty miracle for her as well! God is faithful. No matter what.
ok at the risk of being the one idiot here.....whats a link party?...im i dork i know please explain someone
ReplyDeleteAs a parent of a special needs child, I would have LOVED such a sight to read information, to have support, and to share the life that comes with a special needs child. He is grown, and we still have to experiment with what to do to make his life productive. I am proud of your determination to make Lucy's life productive. It is not an easy life...especially with a special needs child. God has not promised an easy life on earth. God has seen me through SO MUCH and continues to. He will do the same for you and your family. My love to you all!!!
ReplyDeleteChocolate milk in bed :)
ReplyDeleteKate,
ReplyDeleteThere is a great website for medic bracelets. http://www.laurenshope.com/category/111/medical-id-alerts-for-kids-and-girls
I got mine there, but I only ordered the tag and the engraving. I have made several bracelets that I can change out depending on what I am wearing. If you can take Lucy's wrist measurements and send them to me with her favorite colors, I would love to make some for her. My email is juliaraedesigns@aol.com.
Praying,
~Julie
