Delirious

This is us after 3 doctor appointments and a very close call with another ER visit. I must have seemed like a lunatic when I was crying and literally begging the doctor not to send us back!

I love Jack's "team" that we met with today. We met a new NP at the ENT and she was great. Thanks Ann!!

Jack will be having his adenoids removed ASAP, but nothing can happen until his asthma is under control. Albuterol every 3 hours, another round of Prednisone and a major antibiotic for a month. We can do this!!!!

On a totally unrelated note...can anyone tell me if I can easily switch one laptop screen for an identical laptop screen? Is this something we can do on our own? My hubby is pretty handy and can follow directions. Any words of advice? My computer is on the brink again and if i can switch screens then ill have a "new" computer.

Thanks again friends for the encouraging words today!

  2. Yes you can. My husband is computer handy too and he had no trouble switching mine. We were so glad we hadn't gone out and bought a new one.

  3. Oh and make sure you check if you just need the actual screen (much less expensive) or the whole top of your computer. Only replace the screen if you can. Easier and cheaper.

  8. Praying for you Jack! Totally stinks but I'm glad to see you have a good team working with you.

I'm sure you can change your computer screen, but I have no clue how to do it. I'm sure you could search it up, there's lots of computer geeks out there. :)

    Blessings,

  9. Hi, My son had his adenoids removed when he was 3. Not as young as Jack, I realize, but it made a huge difference. No need for antibiotics for quite a few years. He is 11 now! Prayers for your entire family.

  10. Hope Jack is feeling better soon, must be rough trying to keep on top of it all. As far as the laptop goes, I can only speak from experience - which is that when my sister and I were going to replace one on ours, we just unscrewed the plastic cover and it was a pretty straight forward unplug/plug in, the only problem we had was the replacement screen was more than a new computer! Good luck :)

  11. Kate, I feel so sorry for you and Little Jack. Yuck ,I want to wish him and you all luck! I also wanted to let you know that my 16 month old grandson just had his adnoids out 2 weeks ago and my daughter and his PCP begeed the hospital to take out his tonsils also. They refused saying they were secondary to his constant sickness. Well he now has tonsilitis and is headed back in for his tonsils to be removed. I hope this isn't Jack's case but just a thought. I have heard of 3 others in the last month that this has happened to and this is Darthmouth Hitchcock Hospital, a very well know Hospital. Good Luck Kate and this has to end soon for you. My thoughts are with you all.

  12. I know you must hear it a lot, but I don't know how you do it! You inspire and motivate me to be a better mom. I have never met you and most likely never will, but yet you, someone I merely stumbled upon online, have become a role model for a young mom like me. You're so relateable. I pray for you and your family often and will continue to. You are a warrior mommy for your kids and your faith is just.,..well amazing. Keep your head up and this too shall pass.

  13. Good luck to Jack.
As far as the laptop screen, the poster who mentioned that the replacement can be more than the replacement is correct. Go online and check out the prices of laptops to see if it is worth it. As for how to do it, youtube is a great source for how to's for anything.

  14. Hugs to Jack and everyone!
On the computer, it depends. I had mine replaced by Radio Shack for about $120 I think, but that was years ago.

  15. My older son had his adenoids removed when he was 32 months old after having chronic sinus infections ( I know it's different than what ails Jack) and very loud snoring at night. He hasn't had any problems since and at first after the operation I would go into his room at night to check on him because you couldn't even hear him breathing it was that much of a difference. Hope it goes well for Jack!

  16. Kate, I have never left you a message but I have been following your for years. I can relate to your asthma as my son suffered, severely, as a toddler. I wlll tell you two things...
    1. DO NOT let them officially diagnose him asthma or it will affect your insurance forever and Jack's as an adult.
    2. After two years of asthma and allergy testing, they determined that it was acid reflux causing the asthma and once we started treating his acid reflux (Nexium powder), he was a different child. This was after two years of breathing treatments, ER visits, steroids, etc...
Just thought some of this might help. Best of luck and as always, my children and I will continue to pray for your family every night.

  21. my little boy had the asthma and adnoids issue to. The adnoids coming out was an easy surgery and did wonders. Good luck!
Also I'm not tech savey and my husband is not a handyman AT ALL but we replaced my screen on my computer in a fairly quick time. The longest part was taking the screws out. We bought a cheap screen on ebay and went from there. Very easy!

  22. Anne at Dr. Klug's is fabulous!! & a family friend (my sis-n-law that you met at concert earlier this year trained with her :). We love her! We usually only see Dr Klug at surgeries :) lol! They've handled Cade's tubes, adenoids, & tonsils, Hudson's tonsils & adenoids, & Callie had her adenoids removed in July and is getting her tonsils out Wednesday :( Honestly, though, she's not made a recommendation for my kids that hasn't paid off for the better. Hope all goes well for Jack, & that he's off steroids (my Cade was terribly difficult on steroids!) and back to 100% soon!
