When we take our yearly family vacation... we give each of our 4 kids (ages range from 13-6) a roll of quarters and everytime they ask "are we there yet?" they have to give up a quarter. Whatever quarters remain, they get to save, spend, use as they please. We don't have to do it so much for the oldest but it certainly helped when they were 2, 4, 6, and 9 years old!
