I'm not sure why I didn't write this yesterday. Maybe it's because it's just too hard to even speak of. It is also the source of a lot only anger right now.
As many of you prepare to go to your place of worship I would ask that you please ask God for a specific miracle.
Lucy has lost her eyesight. Whatever (besides cancer) it is she fighting ( meningitis, infection, virus) has claimed her vision. No one is sure if it is permanent but Lucy does know she can't see. One of the last things she said to me was that she couldn't see. She then proceeded to cry herself to sleep and hasn't been very alert since then.
I guess it's a blessing she sleeps 24 hours a day. At least she isn't scared. However, if our ultimate goal is to try to get home and have any quality of life moments with her then her eye sight becomes a huge equation.
Please pray for miraculous healing for my child. Please pray for her eye sight to be restored. But most of all please pray for mercy and no suffering.
Yesterday, for the first time in about 15 months, I honestly prayed for Gods will to be done. I haven't stopped pleading and begging for my child's life but I can say that I am now prepared to accept her healing in any form.
I am praying that Lucy's eyesight is completely restored to her here on earth.

ReplyDeleteSeeking the Lord's healing hand for Lucy.
ReplyDeleteFather, my God. You alone are healer. You alone know all the reasons why. Lord, we don't see Your reasons or understand all of Your ways. Dear God, touch Lucy and heal her eyesight in Jesus' name. Take Your hand and squeeze that cancer right out of Lucy's body. Remove the pressure on her eyes and restore this sweet child to perfect health hear on earth.
Lord, I humbly submit to Your ways and plead this in the blood of Jesus Christ who paid for all of our sins on the cross.
I will be paying with my church's prayer team this morning. Hon, keep looking at Jesus. I know it is so hard but He only will get you through all of this.

Oh That is just horrible and I have tears flowing. I just don't understand the why's, but I pray for Lucy's total comfort and healing. If Jesus wants her in his arms..we all can see why he has missed her so much. I pray she can come home and have her sight restored as well. We have been praying so hard for your entire family. I have imagined the horror of being in that situation with Owen many times, but can't wrap my head around the anguish I would feel. Hold on to your faith and cuddle on your baby girl. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteHi Kate,
ReplyDeleteI was sitting here praying for Lucy's eyesight and was reminded that this morning my eyes were puffy so I got up, wet two teabags and placed them on my eyes. God spoke to me and told me to tell you to do this for Lucy. Wet two teabags, the caffinated type, place them on her eyes and pray.
I am not prophetic and why this came to me I can only wonder if it is my mind saying do this. But, with the dire need inside of me to see Lucy healed, I agreed to God that I would step out in faith and tell you this.
Praying and praying,

How scary for your sweet girl. All of this is incredibly scary, but I can't imagine how upsetting it must be for her to realize she cannot see. Sending her and your family continued thoughts and love.

ReplyDeleteI kept your family on my thoughts and prayers while I was at church today. I pondered why God would allow a little child to go through so much. I do know that when Jesus suffered for each and every one of us, he felt all of our pain. For some reason that brought me some comfort to know that He has felt what you, Erik, Ella, Jack, and Lucy are going through. I cannot for a moment get your precious family out of my mind or my heart. I pray that you will be able to have some quality time with all of your family together in your home. I do believe that she will have peace and mercy and no suffering, especially after reading that Lucy was reliving every happy memory. Thank you Kate, for taking the time to share your beautiful angel's life with each and every one of us. For sharing your feelings, thoughts, and emotions with all of us. I wish I could come give you a big hug and just hold you while you hold your little girl. Much love from Idaho.

Kate,
ReplyDeleteI lost my son nearly 20 years ago. Until he was 2 days old, I had a healthy, robust looking baby boy. At 2 days old he was rushed to NICU, four days later he was having heart surgery. He did well for about 3 weeks, but eventually developed an infection he couldn't fight. He fought for 6 weeks. It was the most difficult time of my life. The one thing I truly struggled with was the relief I felt immediately after his passing. I felt guilty for it. He suffered so much, though. So many surgeries and procedures in such a short time. I am praying for your baby and for you.
Kate, thank you for taking the time to update and to give us, the Legion of Lucy, specific prayer requests. We will pray as you requested.
