Slumber Party
Tonight's post will be super quick. I just wanted to let everyone know that Lucy had another good day. She has been very tired today, but steadily making progress. Her appetite still continues to be strong and she walked from the bathroom to the bed (with help) 4 times today. OT was a bust, as she slept a good bit of the afternoon.
We were surprised by a visit from our friends the Watkins. For those of you who have been following from day one, you will remember Lanie. Lanie passed away from her fight with Medullo this past year. Her parents drove yesterday for about 7 hours to come visit with us. It was such a surprise, but I have enjoyed every single moment we have spent together the past 24 hours. They are amazing people and we have shared so many of the same experiences. Cancer is a horrible road to travel, but sometimes there is comfort in knowing that (unfortunately) there is someone who understands. REALLY understands.
We are having a slumber party tonight..complete with science project and everything. We made these focus bottles that I found on Pinterest.
Ella is curled up in the fold out chair with Erik, although I am about to move her onto the couch with me. Lucy is out and I've got my eyelids open with toothpicks. Sleep is calling. I am going to answer.

Dear Sweet Kate, God listens when His people pray and we all rejoice and shout with praise when He pours out His blessings upon His children. Yesterday we passed a home with a long white fence across the front of the yard and on that fence was a big sign on it that read "GO LUCY GO".
ReplyDeleteWhen you posted about the events of last week and how you were making plans for what seemed the inevitable and how you prayed for God's Will to be done, I thought about the "Prayer of Relinquishment" by Catherine Marshall and how once we let go and totally give God our situation, when we realize we are not in control and there is nothing to do but lay our burden down and let Him have it completely, that is when HE moves to heal us, make us stronger, and bless us. PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW. Praying for a wonderful Sunday for you all. You will be lifted in prayer today. Happy Father's Day to Erik.
Bless you and your family Kate! Sweet Lucy is so strong!

ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteLast week I found your precious website while I was looking for birthday decorations for my daughters 1st birthday. As I read your post, my heart just felt for you Kate and your family. I welled up with tears reading your pain come out as you write and your unending love for Jesus as your daughter was fighting for her life. I immediately prayed for your family and for Lucy's healing if that be his will. I asked my 5 year old, Norah if she wanted to pray for Lucy, and so we did. I have prayed for her and your family through the week and today when I saw how well she is doing, I thanked God. Each day truly is a gift and I am encouraged by your faith. We will continue to pray for Lucy and we have been blessed by seeing your family love God through this journey that you are on. Thank you for sharing your life.
What a fun slumber party!! Praying there are many more to come this summer:)

ReplyDeleteWE LOVE YOU LULU FROM HOUSTON TX!!! You all are in our prayers all day! Dear Kate, continue to proclaim Lucy is healed in Jesus name. Say "we proclaim Lucy is already totally healed from all illness, it is already done with his stripes, she is healed, in Jesus name" Follow this with "devil get behind me, leave this child alone, who is protected by almighty God, through Jesus Christ!" Lay your hands on her and have loved ones join in many tomes a day and night. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks you look or sound like, do it anyway. This is WAR! We LOVE you all! Go Kate Go!!!! Go Lucy Go! You are God's child and he LOVES YOU LULU!!!
