(Rolling into the hospital sound asleep already)
That's how we feel about round two of Chemo. Lucy is ready, we are ready. Bring it on. She is ready to kick some cancer-booty!
We arrived at St. Jude around 9:00 pm. We have our bags unpacked, Buzz Lightyear has taken his rightful place as guardsman of the door and Erik has the air mattress blown up and stacked on the foldout couch. No metal rods in our backs this time. The nurse is in hanging Lucy's fluids and will draw some blood for labs. She will also have a blood transfusion tonight which should give her a little extra "humpfh" to fight tomorrow's battle. Monday is the hardest day, so we are all going to try to get a good night's sleep. It should be a quite night which we will all appreciate. Lucy has been sick almost every night this week so we are praying for a better night on that front as well.
I have so much to update and look forward to spending some time on the computer tomorrow. Thank you again for all your prayers. Our little Lucy is strong, but she still needs your prayers. We will never be able to say thank you enough.
I will be praying for Lucy!
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray fiercely for you all! Go Lucy go!
ReplyDeletePraying!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to hearing about all that God is going to do in round 2!! You sound prayed up and ready...you go girl! And go Lucy go!!!
ReplyDeleteGo Lucy! You and your family have sooooo many people praying for her.
ReplyDeleteGo Lucy Go!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I pray for God to sustain this sweet little baby as she prepares to "do battle" once again. Also for YOU as you care for her continuously that you will not grow weary, but stonger in our God's grace. Praying for Lucy, as always...
ReplyDeletePraying for you all today.
ReplyDeleteHi, Kate. You don't know me personally, but I think we share a few common friends (one family being the Goforths) as we used to live in Tipton county. I have been reading your blog for around a month now, and I just want you to know that our family is praying for yours...especially your sweet Lucy. One of my favorite sections of scripture has always been James 1:2-4. I am sure you have read that many a times over the last 5 months, but I pray this scripture would continue to prove true in the life of your family; and that our great God of comfort would continue to bring you all great comfort and power to continue to fight and beat this cancer! I as well, will be praying that your family will be on the lake next year on the 4th watching fireworks with 3 healthy children!

Go Lucy, Go! Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding... for He knows our paths before we ever arise each morning. Hoping you can find the courage and strength to take care of her, your other kiddos, your husband, and YOU throughout this next round. Praying for powerful healing. Love that Lucy-girl and I haven't ever met her. My husband and I are from Martin, TN but now live in Missouri, and I believe I noticed a Westview Charger (maybe not) t-shirt in one of your pics. So excited to see a "home-towner" loving on your family. May you feel His presence and may you see Him today and the days to come... even if a smidge of Him. He's THERE. I am working on seeing Him each day; I hope you will, too.
ReplyDeleteLove to your family.
Sincerely,
Selena Bell Bragg
Praying for Lucy to be strong this week. Hope you were able to rest on the "new mattress". So glad you were able to spend some time at home. Praying for you & Erik to feel HIS presence in a new & real way as you face this second round.
ReplyDeleteI haven't stopped praying. Praying this cancer is gone and this week is easy on Lucy's body.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless,

Continuing to pray....
ReplyDeleteI have thought of you all extra hard this weekend. On Friday in the mail I received a postcard from you all. I was blown away. Simply blown away. Never in a million years did I need a card or anything like that. But that you all take the time to do it...wow. That's all I have to say. Is wow. I was blown away. That just shows what good, kind people you are.
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray for Lucy and all of your family...
ReplyDeletePraying for sweet Lucy! She is strong and she is a fighter!!
