Your little Lucy is not just adorable - she is so brave. Sadly her eyes have wisdom beyond the innocence of her years but her eyes also show such beautiful bravery. Blessings Joyce
BEAUTIFUL pictures! Love that gorgeous smile and seeing they tennis shoes hitting the pavement!! Praying for you Lucy girl here in Texas! We stop and pray for you by name every morning before my girls go to school!
Kate - I wish I had the words to comfort you, but I don't. In my mind, there is no understanding of childhood cancer. That is a question that will have to wait. Please know that you are lifted up in our prayers, just as is Lucy, Erik, Ella, Jack, your parents, Erik's parents, and your entire families. I must say that I've always thought Lucy favored you a lot, but in these latest pictures, I can really see her Daddy in her! Especially in the eyes (even though hers are blue :). Anyway, I'm glad, too, that you mentioned how your grandfather is doing. I noticed his name on the prayer list Sunday & wondered how he was. We are praying for him, as well. Your community loves you & is behind you 100%! We're here when you need us, & when you're ready :)
Just want you to know we are still praying. Lucy should get some cards from the children at our church sometime this week. I hope they will brighten her day.
Lucy is beautiful. God has allowed this little girl to be on this earth for a reason. We may never know what that reason is this side of heaven. But He will continue to heal her and bring people from around the world, reading your blog, to Himself. Stay focused and race this race with pride and great passion. He will say "Well done!" my good and faithful servant.
Good Morning Kate I am a new follower of your blog and check everyday to get an update on Lucy. Just wanted to let you know that I will not only pray for Lucy, but for your family as you all fight this together! You have beautiful children!
Hi, My name is Hannah and I have been praying for sweet your Lucy since day one of her journey with this terrible disease. I am a cancer nurse in Jackson, TN, and although I do not treat children I know the hardships that families battling cancer face. I pray for ALL of you daily. I pray that God gives each of you strength, courage, HOPE, peace and unmeasurable love. I pray that you are able to find some comfort in knowing that He is with you ALL the time, holding your hand and hold precious Lucy in His hands. God is an amazing healer and comforter. Your faith and strength continue to amaze me. You may not feel this way but are SO strong!! I love the new pictures you posted. Lucy is just beautiful and I can see happiness starting to return to those pretty eyes. God has big plans for this little girl!! I know you don't know me but please contact me if you need anything! My email is nurse.hannah@hotmail.com Hoping and praying, Hannah Wilhite
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. - Matthew 11:28
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. - Isaiah 40:30
Fantastic pictures! She is looking great! I do not know you personally but was sent an email, from a good friend who is from Georgia, the first week of March containing the link to your blog and asking to keep Lucy and your family in my prayers (along with many other friends in our little "mommy/friend group"). I must say I have been praying a lot more lately since reading your blog and have been making sure I include Lucy and your family in my prayers every day! Your words have definitely touched my heart and your faith in God through this is so amazing! I could not imagine if my almost 2 year old son were going through this. (I have to admit I cry pretty much every time I read your blog.) Just wanted you to know that people down here in Florida are keeping up with you all and praying that Lucy beats this and has an amazing and long life! Allison Harris
great pictures. She is looking stronger and stronger each day. I pray for a speedy recovery for your little girl. Shes so lucky to have great parents! Best of luck.
That, is a wonderful, beautiful, amazing, sweet, incredible, little girl! Such a blessing she is...such a blessing!
Praying for peace for you especially, Kate. I remember when our son was stillborn, and feeling like I needed to be "the strong one", "the one who had it all together"...the mom. =- ( Thankfully, there were those few special people out there that let me break down and encouraged me to lean on them. You will find that (you obviously already have and that is WONDERFUL!) Know that you, just like little Lucy, are loved from afar and prayed for endlessly!
Hey there... I just started following you... a click of a click of a click. I just want you to know that I am a new prayer warrior for you and your family. In November of 2009 our son was diagnosed with Leukemia. 655 days of chemo left. You don't know me but our family is thinking of you everyday as of today. Amanda www.coffeecakeandme.blogspot.com
I found your blog through another blog friend and wanted to finally post a comment. Your story has touched my life in ways I will never be able to express. Lucy's strength to just keep moving forward is awe inspiring. I love these pictures because it shows you both smiling even in the midst of a storm. Mommy and Lucy both have such a radiant smile, and I pray for many more days where you can catch these smiles. I'm praying for your WHOLE family. That Jesus lets you know that He's there with you all the time, each and every day you're fighting this ugly cancer.
Kate, I have been following your blog for a few weeks after seeing Lucy's button on another blog. I just wanted you to know that we've been praying for her (and the rest of your family) like crazy at our house! I don't know why I've felt such a connection to your story- maybe because you and I think a lot alike, but I've taken it so strongly to heart and pray that our Heavenly Father cures your little girl and helps your family cope with it in the meantime. We will keep praying for you!
