I Have a New Sister

A sister in Christ, that is.  Ella asked God to come into her heart tonight and Erik and I were so proud and THANKFUL to be home to talk with her and walk her through a sinners prayer.  God has been tugging on her heart for some time now, but I am thankful she waited to do this with us.  What a blessing.  Just when we needed something super positive in our life, God answered in a big way!  Welcome to the family of Christ my sweet, sweet Ella.  Mommy is so proud that you will forever live in heaven with Jesus and it gives me such joy to know we will always be together.
I have a plaque hanging in my kitchen that reads "I could have no great joy than to hear that my children are walking in truth."  I have always prayed for my children's salvation but have spent more time praying for Ella lately.  I am so glad to see that prayer come to fruition.

It might be a little tricky getting to church anytime soon, but I can't wait to see Ella go before our church for her public profession of faith and then witness her baptism.  GOD IS GOOD!

  1. Kate,

Praise God that Ella is officially a part of the family of God! I am praising Him that you and Erik were able to help lead her in the decision to trust Christ as Lord and Savior. The salvation of our children is our greatest responsibility as parents; I believe God gives us the gift of offspring as a means for us to raise up soldiers in His army to be light in the darkness. I am rejoicing with you in Ella's salvation decision.
Emily and I continue to intercede for Lucy, you, Erik, and your entire family. Malachi 4:2 - "But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings, and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall."

I can not even begin to imagine what you must be going though and yet you continue to praise the Lord. Not many people could do that. AWESOME news about your daughter tonight. Will continue to be praying for your sweet Lucy. Theres a song I just heard tonight by Laura Story called "Blessings" totally thought of you when I listened to it. Hang in there.

  4. What a sweet and awesome blessing! It is so awesome seeing and being a part of leading your child into relationship with God! My youngest stepdaughter received Christ almost two years ago while talking to her father and I one night and I will cherish that moment in my heart for the rest of my life!
    Welcome to the Family ELLA!!

  12. Wonderful news! I know you are so delighted that Ella has opened her heart to the Lord. I prayed for sweet Ella this morning, that she would come to have a strong faith in the Lord and I thanked God for giving Ella (Lucy & Jack) such God-loving parents. This is a huge achievement as a parent. You should be proud of yourself. Continuing to pray for your family. With Christian Love, Candi Smith
