Lucy Update

Short and Sweet...Lucy did great today.  We got out of the room 3 times.  Once for physical therapy and twice for a little retail therapy (shopping in the gift store).  She is a child after her momma's heart.

I am home with Ella and Jack tonight.  It was hard to leave, but I had to come home and pack for another 2 week hospital stay.  Looks as if we are heading to St. Jude probably Thursday.

Please keep the prayers coming.  She's only just begun her fight.

  4. Keep fighting Lucy. My 10 year old daughter fell to her knees in church on Sunday and prayed for you. She has a faith that could move mountains and God listens to her pleas. You are in good hands girl. My 11 year old son says your name at grace each night, right after his Uncle James, who is in Afghanistan. We live in San Diego, so the prayers are spreading. HUGS!!! Keep your spirits up. Remember to smile. You have every single soul in Heaven pulling for you. I can't think of a better reason to fight back.

  5. My Dear Kate,
I am glad that you are home. Although, I know it was hard to leave, there is nothing like home sweet home, and soon Lucy will be there too! I know, it can't be soon enough, but God is going to answer every prayer. I just know it! Give Ella hugs, and kiss those sweet cheeks of Jack's. The girls at work and I were talking about his sweet cheeks today! ;) Love you tons! Am too thrilled that Lucy did well today!!!!!

  8. Kate, I can't imagine how you feel right now. I have 3 boys (8, 4 & 1) and I can't imagine just how hard it would be to not only have a sick child but to be away from my other 2 children so much. I am praying for a miracle for sweet Lucy and also strength, peace and comfort to surround you and the rest of the famiy.

    Matthew 11:25-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light

  9. I also found your blog from another one and am checking on your family and precious litlle Lucy every day. As a retired kindergarten teacher for 37 years, I have a special love for 5 year olds. Lucy is precious! My daughter-in-law is battling a brain tumor, too. She's the mother of 2 of my grands Bryce, 8 and Bella, almost 4. Just so glad the God we serve is BIGGER than brain tumors. Hope you have the devotional book, Jesus Calling by Sarah Young! Some days I feel it is written just for me and I know the readings would be such a comfort for you and your family. Will be praying in Charleston, MS...not too far from you!

  19. Kate - So glad you were able to go home and be with Ella & Jack, and that Lucy had a good day, too! Her spirit seemed to be recharging! I hope your time at home was a "refresher" for you as a Mommy, too. It will be so important throughout Lucy's journey to find time for yourself to recharge your mind, body, and spirit. God will always be there to hold you up, and your many family & friends will be here praying. Love to all - cherri :)

  20. Kate I sent you an email via facebook. Concerning Channel 3 being interested in Lucy's story. I was not sure if you would get the message or not, so I am also commenting on here in hopes that you will look for the message via facebook. I know you are busy, and may not get to it, but if you have a chance, that would be great! Thanks!

  26. Dearest Kate,
Just letting you know that my family and I are lifting sweet Lucy up before the throne of our Great God--we think of her often and pray just as much for her and for all of you.
I also wanted to write (couldn't find an email address besides the golucygo one and I wasn't sure that would go through but I will try that route as well) to let you know that I would love to sew some special things for Ella, Lucy and Jack to send some smiles to each of them from down here in Georgia. I own a little children's clothing shop and I would be so happy to get the chance to send a little love your way! If you are having any sort of auction in conjunction with any of the fundraisers you are already planning, I would love to donate items to that as well. I know that you have beyond a lot on your plate right now, but if you have the chance and would accept some clothes please, please email me at chickadeechickadee (@) gmail dot com!

  27. Kate,
I saw your post thru several friends on facebook and as soon as I clicked on i realized I knew you & Erik. A long time ago I dated Neal and hung out with you guys for awhile. You and Erik were always so sweet and kind and friendly. Reading your blog about your precious Lucy is one of the most touching things I have ever read. Since the moment I reading I have been praying for you all. I have two boys and my oldest will be 5 in May. I can not imagine what you all are going thru. Please
know you, Erik, the doctors, everyone involved and especially sweet Lucy will be in my prayers each day! She is so precious and I can't wait to see all the great things God has planned for her!! Donna (Pelt) Selman
